A Server's Moment: The Theory of the Dimes
A lesson Rocky learned a long time ago and wants to pass it along to you.
This is your servers moment. Every moment is a part of a survivor's journey and we hope this moment will be motivational for you, for your journey of serving your customers, your coworkers, or your family. I'm rocky, desperate, I know, and here is today's servers moment. Make no mistake about it. Everything.
Speaker 2:Now you're getting ready to go into a battle zone. We want to give you something that you can do today to be a better server. Everybody around, so I can't take credit for this. We call this the theory of the dimes and it was shared with me and so I'm going to share it with you and honestly, I hope that you could pass it on to other people too. Here's what I need you to do. Look on your dresser. I want you to dig in your car if you have to or looking at your cushions of your couch, but I want you to find 10 dimes and I want you to put those 10 dimes in your right pocket and now here's the cat. You cannot finish today. You can't call today, done until you put every dime from your right pocket into your left pocket, but you can't put it in your left pocket until you think somebody, and I don't mean just casually, I mean look at the person, thank them and make sure that it's thanking them for doing something over and above what you expected them to do. No zone with a customer or with a coworker, so it's great to thank customers, but I'd like it to be a coworker. If you're a husband, it can be your wife. Try to find somebody who you are. You're trying to lead and thank them this way. So again, you can not call today, done until it's in your left pocket. And then as a treat, you can have a coke on the way home with the, with a dollar. Are Folks still a dollar? I'm not sure
Speaker 3:you can grab some. And that's it. That is it for this moment and I want to remind each and every one of you that on Wednesday we do a deep dive here at a server's Bernie and you can subscribe and join us each week. Thanks for joining with us. As we gather, we learned to be better leaders.
